Wow,Thank you for all this information, this is great.I have one question. If Susan Florence selby was the daughter of Elizabeth selby,wouldn't Elizabeth be maybe the wife of one of Tom's brothers???Unless Elizabeth has a child while she was single????

It looks like she was illegitimate and Elizabeth was unmarried :)

From the 1871 census JJ posted Susan 2 is down as granddaughter.  Elizabeth 20 daughter.

There's a George Selby in Lancashire 1881 married to Elizabeth with 5 young children including a Florence.

George is from Leicestershire age 41.  Not sure if that's him  :-\
