John Reeves married Margaret Scales on 5/12/1755 at St Pancras, Chichester. Cannot find any siblings or place and date of birth for John. All help gratefully received.

I looked for a death of John in order to get some idea of his birth year, but no luck.
Margaret seems to have died in Chichester in 1797, (could not be the Margaret Reaves who died in 1759 because son born 1760) and the Chichester records gave no idea of her age.
So for the moment the best random contender for John's baptism is the following from West Wittering
John REEVES, Baptism Date 27-Jul 1729, son of William and Frances.

I see they married by licence so if that still exists it may help.  John is shown as of St Bartholomew's parish.   Witnesses Thos Dollman and Wm Scale.
Licence dated 8th Dec 1755 and marriage on the 9th.

Thank you sillgen. I have that info about his marriage. What I should have said on my request was "help" in finding his parents. They seem to be lost - I have a suspicion that they may have come from Dorset/Hampshire. Am getting a bit weary of that part of my family, but as they say in better circles, do not give up. Here I go again. Thank you though for your reply, much appreciated.

What children did they have?    If there is a William or a Frances that might be a clue.

Thank you sillgen. John and Margaret had two children, John and William. William was Margaret's father's name. Thank you for suggestion, I will persevere.
