Gordon Bilsland Jack who's wartime address was 14 Eridgeway, Forest Town, Johannesburg was a member of the South Africa Airforce with service number 205570.  Lieutenant Jack was with Number 5 Fighter Squadron and was shot down 1 September 1942 in Tomahawk AM390 (GL F) and captured 20.9 kilometers Southeast of El Alamein.

My father Walter Layne and Lieutenant Jack were POWs together at Stalag Luft III.

Gordon Jack made this entry in my father's POW "Wartime Log."

There are 50 prisoners named in my father's POW "Wartime Log."  https://wallyswar.wordpress.com/pow-log/

I am attempting to find a wartime photograph of each individual, so far I have found 23.  My efforts so far can be seen here.  https://wallyswar.wordpress.com/other-pows/

I am hopeful that through this website I can find a wartime photograph of Gordon Jack and hopefully a little more information.

Regards, David Layne.
