Searching for information regarding the family of William Robert Bancroft b. 13 Sept 1869 Cape Province, and d. 19 June 1933. Married Sarah Wilhelmina Jane Chick in about 1899 in Kimberley. Sarah was b. abt. 1870 in King Williams Town, and d. 3 Nov. 1957 in Johannesburg. They had children:
Cecil b. abt. 1890 d. very young
Daisy b. 1891 (married Ernest Harris) and d. 1976
Edwin b. 1893 d. 1917 in France
Norman b. 1895 d. very young
William b. 1897 d. 1980 in UK
Eileen b. 1909 (married Harry Goodwin) d. 1976
Stella b. 1913 (married Claude Worsnip) d. 1987

Very interesting as it looks like he went under another surname as well!!  If you order the file through the Cape Town Archives it will give you more information.  The death notice often gives the names of the parents.

If you look on familysearch under South Africa there are scans of the baptisms of the children giving their full names, dates of baptism as well as dates of birth.  There is also another child born to them - Neville Martin Alexander born 20/6/1902.
