An improvement from 1866 in England/Wales the only organization that gives birth dates (hopefully accurate!) and death area and approximate death date is the GRO from 1969. Partially transcribed by Free BMD.

If you could find their burials then the vicar may well have entered their ages in his burial register.

familysearch.org is the one site that has very few death dates. Perhaps the subscription web sites are the only answer.

It is a case of looking through parish records for burials. Not all, by any means, are online.
Local Record Offices will hold the PRs, usually on microfilm or microfiche. If you cant get there yourself (though visiting a Local Record Office is a very worthwhile thing to do, as so many archives can be accessed that aren't online) then some will do a look up for you if you know which Church and approx. year.
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

You would have to find the church where they were buried and then go to the relevant record office to look up those records.

Which is all well and good if you live in the same area, but cheaper to order a few wrong death certs if you don't.
