Looking for Rebecca Grieg Walker b. 1893 Canongate Edinburgh

Hi all

I am looking for the birth and parents of Rebecca Grieg Walker
She was born in Canongate, Edinburgh circa 1893

She married a John James Ferguson 15 April 1912 presumably in Edinburgh

They immigrated, as a married couple, to Canada shortly after marrying.

Anything that will give me more information on them and their parents would be great

John Ferguson, Fish Merchant, age 23 married Rebecca Walker age 19 on 15th April 1912 in Edinburgh. His parents were John Ferguson, Seaman Merchant Service and Agnes Ferguson nee Croan. Her parents were George Walker, Engine Turner deceased and Mary Walker nee Smith. At the time of the marriage both bride and groom were living at 55 Dumbiedykes Road (about five minutes walk from Canongate). Witnesses were John Walker and Chrissie Pearson. Rebecca seems to have been born simply Rebecca and there is no evidence of the use of Grieg in the Scottish records(Scotlandspeople)
The couple arrived in Canada on 22nd June 1914 on the Saturnia. Rebecca seems to have made one visit back in 1919 along with a child Mary A Ferguson who was 11 months in July 1919. They returned to Canada in June 1920 having been with Staying with Rebecca's mother in Edinburgh (per Ancestry).

I had found a tree online with some of this info but I wanted to verify that they had gotten it from actual documents as so many Trees online are wrong

Not sure with the 'Grieg' attached to Rebecca but I suspect it was the maiden name of someone in the family? Probably one more generation back?

I will see if I can find marriages for Rebecca's parents as well as John's parents and perhaps Grieg will show up???

There is a birth for a George Greig Walker 11 March 1861 Edinburgh Parish father Thomas Walker mother Ann Greig ...which ties in with his age on the census forms as Anne has posted ...Best thing would be to get the marriage for Rebecca's parents

Himalaya caught my eye, thinking that it could be a mistake.     How wrong was I (Himalaya Henrietta Fox).   Born 8th May 1898, married Clifford Vegiard (Engine Driver US Navy) 7 November 1918 moved to Rhode Island  (20 Ocean Court 1930 census with Margaret 12, Clifford H 9,  Bertha 7 and Agnes 4).   He was French Canadian and a Motorman on the railway.    Clifford H his son died 1993 and he passed away 1964.

George Greig Walker died 4th April 1900 aged 39 - 7 Convening Court Edinburgh parents Thomas Walker (slater) and Annie Greig. ?Carrics? of Bone - Exhaustion
