Wright/Alison/Allison. Dundee/St cyrus Scotland.
« on: Saturday 28 February 15 12:53 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for any information on my 4x great grandparents David Wright and Ellen or possibly Helen Alison/Allison. I believe that David was born around 1840 in Dundee, Angus, Scotland and I'd love to find out more on who he was was and I believe that Ellen was born around 1839 in St Cyrus, Scotland. I'd really like to hear from anybody who possibly knows something on this couple. Thank you and I hope to hear from you :)
Scott.

There is a marriage on an Ancestry index of a David Wright to Helen Alison at Saint Cyrus,Kincardine on 16 Jan 1858.

You should be able to pay to view the marriage on Scotlands People, if you haven't already, with details of their parents

With all the info all ready included, this looks like David in 1851:

George Souter 49
Clementina Souter 48
David Wright 14 nephew millworker b. Dundee

Address: 8 Bellfield Lane, Dundee

This entry for 1851 is supported by names for children of David and Ellen. For example

George Souter Wright https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XYTN-H3J
Clementina Wright https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XYPG-Z73

Likely David's early years may be complicated  :-\  As mentioned by Kay, having a look at the marriage entry from 1858 will help you confirm his details hopefully and also Ellen's parents.

In 1861 Clementina Wright detailed in 1881 above  is shown I think as the grandaughter in the family below - presumably Helen's parents at the village Of St Cyrus

William Alison 61 b Cuper, fifeshire
Betsey Alison 61 b St Cyrus
Ann Alison 13  Daughter
Alexander Duncan 5 Grandson
William Wilky 4 Lodger
Cleamantewy Waight    2 Granddaughter b St Cyrus

Looks likely the Wright connection may be via Clementina Wright, wife of George Souter https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XTVT-S6T

With William and Betsey Alison, is there any records stating the names of their parents? I think that Betseys maiden name could've possibly been Wood
