Could this just be a late baptism of 15 yr old Sidney Ernest, complicated by the rector entering the name of the wrong Mrs Golby - Sarah Ellen, similar age, who preferred to be called Victoria (after the Queen).
Maybe Mary Ann was not, or could not be, at the baptism.
There's no indication of d.o.b. in the register entry.

Sarah Ellen Golby may be the same person as Sarah Helen Golby of Middleton Cheney (in Banbury reg district) who died 31 Dec 1901 per probate records.  Her administrator was John Frederick Golby, a farmer.

In which case it looks unlikely she'd have been buried as late as Feb 1902, so she's likely to be a separate person from Victoria.  Geographically it's not my area, but Middleton Cheney doesn't seem to be all that close to Aston-le-Walls, so it seems unlikely the two ladies would have been confused for one another.

In fact, I see that Sarah Helen Golby, 58, was buried at Middleton Cheney on 3 January 1902.

Perhaps Victoria Ellen was simply an alias for Mary Ann?

There does not seem to be a separate burial for Mary Ann - the only female buried at Aston-le-Walls in 1902 was "Victoria Ellen" Golby.

Maybe.  I guess the time frame fits, but why come up with an alias that was never used on census records?  Mary Ann was always Mary Ann...

Also, I would have thought that - as a Church Warden, Arthur and his family would have Christened their children as infants...

Why did they have to make this so complicated?!?!

Thank you for looking.
