Hope this link works:
http://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/sidebyside.cfm#zoom=17&lat=52.63439&lon=-1.14865&layers=171

According to the above map it looks like much of Kate St (parallel to King Richards Road) did not exist as it now does, whereas the part running south from where Tudor Cl is today did exist.

Thank you!

My grandmother once owned a couple of properties somewhere in Leic and used to moan bitterly about them having been subject to compulsory purchase during slum clearance. I think she had inherited the properties, probably from her stepfather.

I just noticed today that 2 deaths in my family tree, in different parts of the family and about 18 years apart, took place at 2 Kate Cottages and either that is one mega coincidence, or this was one of the properties owned by the family.

(my grandmother, bless her, is not here to ask!)
Bradbury (Sedgeley, Bilston, Warrington)
Cooper (Sedgeley, Bilston)
Kilner/Kilmer (Leic, Notts)
Greenfield (Liverpool)
Holyland (Anywhere and everywhere, also Holiland Holliland Hollyland)
Pryce/Price (Welshpool, Liverpool)
Rawson (Leicester)
Upton (Desford, Leics)
Partrick (Vera and George, Leicester)
Marshall (Westmorland, Cheshire/Leicester)

There does seem to have been quite a bit of change in the area around Kate St - street changes and new (60s? builds) - probably worse than the buildings they replaced.

Looking at the size of the buildings on Bosworth and Tudor Rds, those on (what appears to have been) Kate St were larger - possibly commercial buildings?
