Just noticed Thomas Eldred Rolfe was found not guilty - that's a relief!
keep getting a fuzzy patch on Ancestry and it switches to basic viewer which isn't as clear.

Hi again, Trish!
And thanks for that interesting extra info on the Middleditch family.  The picture of late 18thC Bury St Edmunds is even further coloured in with more closely connected detail.  TILLOZ is certainly an unusual surname....
...and pleased to hear that there was no lasting stain on the ROLFE family name, LizzieL!

Have just tried Tilloz on FreeBMD and nothing came up at all, so likely to be a mistranscription or misspelling if from image of original record. Or the name completely died out before 1837.

...not furthering the excellent research in any way on this thread, but I've just caught up with the last episode of Poldark.  We're at about the same era here now with the ROLFE family in Bury St Edmunds - funny to think that the clothes and some of the houses were probably similar, even if Cornwall's a different landscape altogether...

LizzieL,
Just had another read through of this thread, and was so busy putting on my silly contribution last time, muttering about the Poldark series, that I must have overlooked you going the extra mile and spotting what is probably the correct spelling of Martha MIDDLEDITCH's mother's maiden name, TILLETT.  Thanks so much for uncovering that!
