Lucy Hephzibah Cook
« on: Wednesday 18 March 15 17:49 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
Lucy married John McDonnell around 1880-1883, but could you possibly find a marriage record for them. She was born around 1860 in Mersea Island, Essex? Can you find her in the 1871 census please? Her parents were Lucy (nee Haroth) and Daniel Cook. She had 5 known children with John - Norah, Roland, Ernest, Terence and Gertrude.

Thank you so much if you do find out any information, it would be much appreciated!

Tabitha

Have you used FREEMBD to look up such ?

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/

leaving out her middle name gives this Kent entry

To be honest, I wasn't quite sure if she was born in Mersea Island.

Hi Tabitha,

This looks to be them in 1871 on familysearch. Here is a link to the entry: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VFFY-18F

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

Hi Tabitha,

Here is the Cook family in 1881, although the seem to be split up on familysearch & Lucy H (Daniel's wife is down as Hephzibah rather than Lucy!

Here is Daniel: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XQZK-W5Z

Here is Hephzibar (Lucy): https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/XQZS-X6D

The infant Cook in 1871 would appear to have been Harry Cook (age 10 in 1881) & in all I think that there are 4 more children in total.

Apologies if you already have these. Hope that they help though.

Kind regards

David

To be honest Lostris I really don't know if they emigrated! Unfortunately, I don't really know a great deal about this family.
