The Florence Family a Stage Family
« on: Thursday 19 March 15 15:37 GMT (UK) »
I am researching the family of Thomas Florence b 1851 in Ireland who married Mary Seabright in 1876 in the Glasgow area. Thomas is listed as a Comedian in the 1881 Census and I have only managed to find him next in the 1911 census.  Of his various children I am interested in John Seabright Florence born 1881 who married  Olive Mawson Holloway 1910 in the Worksop RD.
also an actor.  I believe there may have been four children of the marriage, Frederick who lived briefly in 1911,Jack born 1914 who died at Penzance in 1995, a daughter with the family name of "Bunty" and a son possibly called Robert.
I would be very grateful for help in filling in the 1881 to 1911 Gap for Thomas Florence and family, also any details of John Seabright and Olives family

Not sure if this is any help to you. Found an article with the Dundee Telegraph dated 21 Jan 1930.

The Emily Florence Repertory Company at the Empress Playhouse last night presented 'The Yellow Passport'  a story on France.
The play which centres around the adventures of a liberated slave who had spent 19 years at the galleys, was unfortunately very weak, and interest was inclined to wane. Considering that this is the last week of a company which has been very popular indeed, the choice of play was disappointing.
Mr Algie Nevill takes the part of the galley slave, a role which he plays well, while Mr Sam Allen, as a villainous and crafty gendarme, is also good.
The character of a Paris lady, whose reputation is none too good, but sacrifices everything for her child, is played by Miss Kathleen Millard, who comes through a difficult role with flying colours.
Miss Emily Florence and Mr Claude Harcourt provide a little humour, and others in the cast are Mr Sam Webster, Miss Mary Seabright, Miss Madge Webster and Miss Viny Webster.

There are lots more reports similar to this at around the same period.
