Toomey/Caverley brickwall
« on: Wednesday 25 March 15 13:22 GMT (UK) »
Hi

Please could anyone help with tracing two people.

So far I have found out:-
Joseph Edward Toomey born Kensington 1886
Married Ellen Caverley in Kensington in 1907
They had a daughter named Norah Toomey born in Kensington 1907

Next found on New Jersey, USA census 1910 showing left UK in 1908 (Ellen spelt name Eleanor on this).

Both Joseph and Ellen have put on the US 1910 census that they were born in England but both sets of parents were Irish.

Ellen has age of 21 yrs old on 1910 US census so both her and Joseph should be found on the 1891 and 1901 census, but cannot find either of them, also cannot find birth of Ellen.

Any leads on them in these census's would be appreciated and birth of Ellen/Eleanor.

Thanks

You will need to buy a copy of the 1907 marriage cert to establish their respective fathers names

www.1901censusonline.com has 2 x Joseph Toomey entries in the age range both aged 13 in 1901 so would be around 20 in 1907

There is an Ellen Caverley born 1881 London on the 1891 Census:

St Joseph's Home, a poor law school
Kensington Hall
83 North End
Fulham

My maths are not doing well today, you said she was 21 on 1910 census, so that would make her birthdate 1889/90, so this one isn't yours :-[
