Sinnan i do apologise i just get carried away, sorry for all the confusion. Somebody gave me that name, maybe its wrong i dont know, as you say the marriage certificate will sort that out. I remember my cousin saying a few years back that he was a widower and that Anne Cullen was his second wife but he wasnt able to find out who the first wife was called. I will try not to get so carried away but is there a way to find out who the first wife was at all? Thankyou

The civil marriage certificate for James Carey & Anne Cullen will list his status (single/bachelor or widowed). If he wasn't a widower then there was unlikely to have been an earlier marriage.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

As aghadowne said you will just have to wait for that Cert.
Your enthusiasm is great but you will have to learn to be patient.

It proves he had a first wife.
It proves it wasn't Catherine Tyrrell as her father in law was Richard.

Let's see what address is on the Cert when it arrives.

I'm just trying to put what we know in one place. Haven't even looked at all the stuff Aghadowey posted yet.

James Carey m ?
Son James Carey m ? She dies.
He marries Anne Cullen 1887
Children Mary 1888 (possible), Bridget 1890, Patrick 1891, James 1894
