Date and maybe a splash of colour please for Maud McDonald?

Hello,
 I am wondering if anyone may be able to give an approximate date for this photo? I am thinking sometime around the 1890s. If someone would be able to add some colour too that would be great,

Thanks. If it is the lady I think it is, she died in 1914 aged 44. Could well be her then, in her 30s.
