Sydney George Leach Royal Flying Corps

I am looking for WW1 records of Sidney George Leach, born 1888 Northampton.  He was in the Royal Flying Corps in Farnborough Hampshire?  I am searching for an elderly resident where I work and would like to save him some money.  There is nothing on Ancestry I can find.  Any help please.

Hi Julie

If he stayed on when the RFC became the RAF he may have served after 1920. In this case his record will be with the MOD. If he did not serve overseas he will not have received any medals. So there are no military records available as yet.

One way is to look for him in the electoral roll of 1918-19. it may give some details.

Wondering if it could be your man with an error made somewhere. Are you sure of his middle name? Or maybe the complier of the list made a mistake?

Hello, yes it is the correct name.  I have the details from his son who is in his late eighties.  He has sent for the records which luckily are free.  It could be a relation of Sydney's.
