Rochsoles estate

Can anyone confirm that Rochsoles/ Rocksoils/ Rochsolloch and Rouchsoills are the same place in New Monkland? The Rochsoles estate was owned for generations by the Gerard family. My interest in this place is a couple, Thomas Main and Margaret Mack who married 1748, Rocksoils, and who had their children there. Thomas was the son of David Main/ Beatrix Ritchie of Eastfield. Margaret was the daughter of James Mack/ Christian Black of Rocksoils.

I would have thought they are, but I suggest that your best plan would be to ask either the Local Studies Librarian in Airdrie, or the Archivist at North Lanarkshire Archives.

Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

They are two separate places.  Rochsoles is to the north of Airdrie.  See this link http://canmoremapping.rcahms.gov.uk/index.php?action=do_advanced&idnumlink=202632
and Rochsolloch is to the west.  If you Google Rochsolloch Primary School you will see a map of the area today but of course you will want to check it out on older maps.
