Hi again,  it really looks at present that for whatever reason the couple did not marry, unless at another place but not Shropshire,  any William b c 1842 Llansantfraid in 1851 would help possibly if eg he was illegitimate?

Family search has a baptism for William Jones in llansanffraid ym mechain 3 October 1841, has this been ruled out.

William Jones married. Elizabeth Morris 31 dec 1861 in llansanffraid ym merchant according to familysearch, source is Montgomery parish registers,  but there are a lot of William joneses marrying Elizabeth's in the area.
