in which case the coroner records will probably be at Durham archives.

i have just looked at the site and the records they hold are not for 1921 , they are 1873  -1893  then jump to 1942 - 1967 so mine are not there unless i read it incorrectly but thanks

Under the Home Office Circular 250/1967, a schedule of destruction of coroners records is laid down.Once 15 years old the records can be weeded, that is destroyed or sampled by the individual coroner concerned. There are exceptions to the 15 year destruction, and apparently it is not compulsory so some coroners choose not to destroy them. Individual Coroners decided what happened to the papers, and very many of them were destroyed by the coroner  hence  there are variations in survival.

i have spoken to newcastle library on phone and they informed me they do have a number of newspapers for 1921 but it will cost me £30 hr for them to search as i cant get there to search myself but advised me that with it happening at heworth to call gateshead library which i did and they are going to search there newspapers .. but the newspapers they hold are not the ones newcastle hold ..
