Thanks avm - so Wendalyn needs to sort out whether the person she is looking for is the Elizabeth Kilvington who married Thomas Coulthard or the Elizabeth Kilvington a widow who married William Iles. It looks as if they are two different people.

Elizabeth Kilvington daughter of John, had at least 2 brothers, so perhaps one of them died leaving a widow Elizabeth?

Jane Booth, spinster.

Married after banns.

Witnesses: Elizabeth Kilvington, Mary Kilvington, Thomas Coultard.


The next marriage in the parish register is that of Elizabeth Kilvington & Thomas Coultard on 10 November that year (a quiet parish, evidently!).  Witnesses on that occasion were William Kilvington, Mary Kilvington, Mary Frank.

Which Elizabeth is likely to be relevant to your research - the one who married Thomas Coultard, or the one who married William Iles?

Elizabeth's other brothers appear to be Thomas born 1790 and Robert born 1795 - are there any marriages for them to an Elizabeth? If not, it looks as if it is a different Kilvington family altogether.

Thomas Kilvington born Brandsby was still alive (unmarried) in 1851 aged 62.

He was an innkeeper at the Cholmeleys Arms Inn, Brandsby.

Robert Kilvington born Brandsby was still alive in 1851 aged 55, with a wife Rachel.

So unless it was a mistake and Elizabeth gave her maiden name rather than her married (widowed) name, it looks as if it is the wrong Elizabeth. The fact that the marriage wasn't in Brandsby where her family was, also makes me think it is a different one.
