Dear Cando, Giblet, Rosball, thank you for the swift response to the request. My friend, Kim Holgate (nee Hawkins) is thrilled at getting the info and thanks you all very much.
Wivenhoe:- David George Hawkins was born in Johannesburg, became a pilot, like his dad, and died in 2005 in Howick, KZN. He had two daughters and 5 grandchildren.  He also had an aunt who remained in Australia, She was Bets Hawkins and married a Calvert. Kim says they have lost touch.

Does Australia give citizenship to grandchildren of citizens?

Thanks again - you are special people. (Glad you won the ICC World Cup)

Saw Kim's message for her family history in Australia, My name is Janet Pontt (nee Ferguson) and my mother was Margaret Jamieson.  Eleanor Hawkins youngest sister. I knew David when we were both little and staying with grandparents George and Eleanor in Adelaide, was very sad to hear of Davids passing. Am happy to share family stories and history that I know of.

Hello - I am Theresa Catherine Hall (everyone calls me Tess)

was trying to find out more about my Grandfather - Alexander Jamieson, his daughter Heather Eleanor Jamieson is my mother. I was very excited to see these posts as i now have more information, I have Grandpa's war records now and have found that he became a fighter pilot with the 54 Squadron in Darwin during WW11 - flying spitfires in Darwin, NT. (where i now live) - this was very exciting news to me and i plan together with my two sisters - Judith and Heather and my mother in July to do a trip around Darwin, to learn more of what he did during this time. My younger sister Heather has suggested we do a trip to Scotland for my mother's 80th in a couple of years, it would be wonderful to take her to the last known address of her father's prior to him leaving Cathcart.
Thank you and Regards,
Tess
