The strange thing is there is no Mountain Street in Wellington, NZ!!!

According to her English marriage certificate she was born in London....

Just throwing in - for what it's worth -   there is a Mount Street in Wellington NZ!

Hi

Googling shows many topics on various websites re Dorothy May Barnes and on at least one there is some conflicting information. Could you confirm which column is the address 44 Mountain Street, Wellington.?

Was the birth certificate obtained from the GRO or the Local Register Office and how clear is the writing? Apart from several places named Wellington in England there are also places with similar names such as Wallington.

Whilst her death certificate says Dorothy May Barnes was born in London don't rule out other locations. I was born in England but if you ask my family here in Australia where I was born most would say a particular large city when I was actually born a few miles away in a different county. That is because when I'm asked where I'm from nobody has heard of the place so I say near (large city). Eventually near becomes from.
