Birth record for Jeremiah ARNOLD Isle of wight pls
« on: Wednesday 13 May 15 21:20 BST (UK) »
Hi

I'm struggling to find a birth record for Jeremiah Arnold

It would be around 1778 as his death record puts him aged 46 in 1824 in Newchurch

His marriage also states he is from Newchurch but I can't find anything relating to his birth/christening/baptism

Any help would be gratefully received

Rachel :)

the marriage stating he was of Newchurch only means he was resident there at the time of marriage -he could have been born anywhere

there is baptism in Dunstan Bedford in 1799 parents William & Judith

there is another one 1798 Worth Sussex parents Jeptha & Dianna

could be either or neither

If all else fails the IOW Record Office offers one free search of their card index within a 10 year range for a baptism , marriage or burial. Here are the details ( scroll down to Free Searches ):

I used this myself some years ago . They responded to my email very promptly.
