Thank you for your suggestions and insights!

Another researcher has suggested that the "Hmaid" may be Hand Maiden or a personal servant.  I'm not really sure but it does appear that this girl was some type of domestic help.

I would like to believe that the town of origin is Tarbert although I'm not still 100% convinced it couldn't be Larbert.  It is the first time I came across this name and from previous experiences with local place names it could be a small hamlet tucked away in some remote location.

I need to do some more digging.

Has anyone come up with a suggestion about the street address in Philadelphia?

On the Ancestry  UK site  Eliza   is down  as a servant, so not  much help  there !
and  googling    West 17th  St Philadelphia   comes  up  with    nothing ,    but North 17th  St does

People usually put the nearest town to where they lived on these type of records so I'd doubt it's any where smaller than Tarbert.

What year is list from?

Just having a quick punt from a different angle... check out the Ireland Births and Baptisms, 1620-1881 collection, on FamilySearch. With a Tarbert (County Kerry) angle.  Note:  Listowel not too far away.

Several possibilities, I like the Thomas Fitzmaurice who married Honora Nolan, children William b. 1877 and Michael b. 1872.

Pretty speculative though..

Again - thank you all for your suggestions and insights!

The passenger list is from 20 October 1898 - Queenstown to New York City

On William Fitzmaurice's Pennsylvania Death Certificate (24 December 1939) his father is listed as Thomas Fitzmaurice but his mother is list as Johanna Scanlon.

Hi Sinann,

That is a really interesting possibility.  However, it does seem the father's given name is somewhat different.  I will need to check if the same couple had any children with the given names of George, William, or Eliza.

No problem.  Trying to keep all the names straight is one of the biggest challenges.
