Hi,
Yes they are both to the NW of Maghera just off the A6 Road on the south side of the Glenshane Pass.

I don't think so  :-\ Fallagloon is to the northeastwest of Maghera and Tirkane to the northwest but

Fallagloon is in the northwest of Maghera Parish
Tirkane is in west boundary of Killelagh Parish

You can see where the parishes are on this map and they don't march each other-

Tirkane- http://www.logainm.ie/en/1413342?s=Tirkane

Hi Aghadowey,
I am a bit confused. I have always assumed that Fallagloon was by the Texaco service station on the A6 where Fallagloon Road is situated. I do agree though that it is not adjacent to Tirkane Upper and Lower as they are about two miles apart.

My sources indicate that the Fallagloon and Tirkane McKenna families descend from brothers from nearby Fallylea where the McKennas had lived from the 1640s. I am trying to verify this information and also establish this family's relationship to the McKennas in Kilrea and would love to hear from anyone with information on these families prior to Griffith valuation around 1860.

I have a Paul McKenna in my tree born circa 1839, married 10th Feb 1880 and died 6 Sept 1927.
He had a Son John who married Mary E Cotter from Kilrea on 30 April 1924.

But i'm a bit stuck as I cant find a grave for Paul (presumably in Maghera) or a birth cert I only know from his marriage cert that his fathers name was Patrick but on the 1830 census for Fallagloon there are too many McKenna's to know which is the correct one.

I did read somewhere that the two brothers you refer to originally came from Tyrone.

If you have any further info on this family I would really appreciate it.

Since Paul was born before birth registration started (1864) there will be no birth certificate for him.
When you say you can't find a grave for him do you mean you haven't found a gravestone anywhere for him?
