Gallipoli

Just returned from very moving visit. Didn't think I had any family links until notes revealed Cecil Reckless - the family grave records he died from wounds received in Gallipoli.

The National Archive online database has provided unbelievable details which show he was with 'the Anson Battalion on 13.06.15 N.O.K informed he was dangerously ill'. He died a year later 11.06.16 having being admitted to Croydon General Hospital suffering from wound of skull.

Not only is the family link moving but having had the privilege to visit the area and see the Dardenelles 100 years later - amazing to try to imagine all those who brought him home.
