Hi Jim,

How old was Ruth when she died?  It may help to try and find her on a census which may lead to info on the area she was born.

Cheers,
Pam

Hello Pam,
Thanks for reply. Sorry that's the problem we have no idea how old she was.The assumption would be around 60's, say born roughly around 1866+- 10.
This has been our stumbling block for sometime, lack of definite info, plus I am an old wrinkly trying hard to catch up with the modem world.

Jim,

Just found the same marriage on freebmd.  Looking at 1881 census I can find 2 Ruth Ann Turners in Halifax area born in 1860s who might fit the bill.

Hello Adrian,
What a relief, it is just what I was looking for. It is my wife's family we are tracing and info is very limited. No records, apart from her immediate relatives, were kept. Also the names are common in the Halifax area.

Best wishes   Jim & Mary C.
