I am having trouble finding the death records (place and year of death) of Thomas Lawton (b.1806) and Frances 'Fanny' Lawton (b.1807).

They appear in the 1851 Census living at Red Street village, Chesterton (Wolstanton).
Thomas, 45, Coal Miner
Fanny, 44, wife
Daniel, 20, Coal Miner
Thomas, 16, Coal Miner
Isaac, 8
William, 5

They appear again in the 1861 Census living at Silverdale (Wolstanton).
Thomas, 50, Coal Miner
Fanny, 50
Isaac, 19
William, 16
*and the next household is occupied by Daniel (the oldest son) and family.

Can anyone find them after 1861?  ???

I can't find Frances 'Fanny' Lawton in the 1871 census!  >:(

Three possibilities: She died between 1861 and 1871, she remarried, or she remained widow but moved to anothe county...

Why can't I find anything???
(I need help, please)

A Fanny Lawton appears in the 1881 census:

Fanny Lawton, 75, Head and widow, b. Scot Hay (Staffordshire)
George Barker, 7, Son  ??? b. Bucknall (Staffordshire)
Herbert Barker, 6, Son  ??? b. Bucknall (Staffordshire)
and living at Apedale Rd (Wolstanton)  [near Audley]

Since the parents of Frances 'Fanny' Viggars (later Lawton) were married at...

married 26th January 1788. St James the Great, Audley.

...it could be a good possibility.
Also place of birth (Scot Hay) is quite close to Keele.

Frances Viggars born 31st January 1807 Keele. Baptised 29th March 1807. St John the Baptist, Keele.

Parents: Richard and Ann Viggars.

Any suggestions?

There is a Banns record for Thomas Lawton and Frances Viggars, dates for readings 21st May, 28th May and 4th June 1826, St John the Baptist, Keele and it says the marriage was forbidden. Both were of the parish.

But later in the year, 1st August 1826, looks like they were married after having their Banns republished on 16th July 1826, 23rd July and 30th July 1826. The added note to explain the first refusal says that it has been ascertained that the couple were both of this parish.

Thomas Lawton
Frances Viggars

Marriage: 01 Aug 1826, Madeley, All Saints
Denomination: Anglican
Residence    Madeley

Ref:D3412/1/9 Page:33

Does this reference give the fathers' names of the groom and bride?

Who were these 2 boys (George and Herbert Barker)? Were they grandsons of Fanny or orphans?
That is the only mystery that still bothers me on this topic. Maybe at some point in the future I will return to it and try to solve it...

Kind regards!  :)

Fathers names are not recorded on a Marriage that early;
Only after Sept 1837 Civil Reg of Marriages were Fathers names/occp's added.

I hard read your original query and followed up the Barker Boys but didnt see any conection that was obvious to Fanny,
