Death Help 2012
« on: Monday 01 June 15 18:40 BST (UK) »
Hello All.  I realise this is not really family tree related but I need help locating reference to obtain a death certificate for my estranged mother in law.

She was Mary Shaw (nae Ellerton) and I believe she died in late 2012 in Scarborough/Flamborough area.  She was born 8 August 1926 in Bradford.

Any help appreciated

Hi

There is an incomplete index of deaths from 2008-2013 but no entry for her so you would have to apply to the relevant registrars office

I've looked at the notices in the Scarborough News online and although two of them mention Ellerton, neither of them are a Mary.

Ellerton was her maiden name - she appears to have died as Shaw

Yes, sorry, wasn't clear.

There are any number of Mary Shaws, but nothing to distinguish them from one another, so I tried adding Ellerton to the search and two names came up but none of them a Mary Shaw.

Hi all and thanks for quick replies.

With regard to the newspaper online her daughter probably made the announcement.  It may also refer to son in law and grand sons.

Thanks
