I was interested to see your remarks on Charlotte Elkington. She is my 3 x great grandmother. I would also like to verify a few things about her. I have her father as John Elkington of Sharnford but have not been able to substantiate this. I note the comments in the thread with interest. I should be fascinated to know what you have found out. Through this line I have gone back to William the Conqueror but it will all be in vane if I cannot tie John to his father James.
