You're lucky, you know - all I've found under my floorboards are some old carpet and a dead snake :(
But then again, my house was only built in 1974!

Prue I`m beginning to wonder if a dead snake might have been a better option  ;D  As this lady was apparently unmarried the pic could have been a sister, niece, cousin, child, who knows?  I still feel whoever it is is more likely to be connected to her than anyone else.  I think I`ll have a word with our town archivist, she`s so good at finding snippets of information!  Thanks again for your help.

Thankyou so much for that Willow, I hadn`t thought to search for the photographer on the census.   I must speak to my neighbours, if they have/had  a name for their house then I`ll know it`s the right person.  I`m sure her daughter told me some years ago their house had a name but it is no longer used.  What I would really like to do is pass this photo, or what`s left of it, to a living relative of the lady in the photo.
