I'll take a guess at 1880s Caz...not much info on Robert Milne of New Brunswick other than what Maddy has posted.

Not much to go on is there, but I'm happy with your suggestion.

I think 1880's too Caz, trouble is there is not much that is datable

but the hairstyle looks 1880ish could be around the middle of the decade

Yes 1880's it is, however I believe it's early-mid decade.
This hairstyle is late 1870's & you don't really see late 1880's.

I found a similar pic online and it says the hairstyle is around 1878, but I always worry about dating on one particular thing, as who is to say she kept up with the fashions when you have very little detail to go on  (I've basically had the same hairstyle all my life, but don't tell anyone).

So I like the late 70's early 80's option.

It's also worth noting the this soft oval vignette style was also an 1870's fad & you don't see it much in the 80's.
