Maureen I never found her after the 1881 - not sure if op might have found Ellen later  ???  - Couldn't see a free bmd marriage/death record to fit her in Norfolk.  Mother Frances was remarried by 1891 and Ellen did not appear with Frances and William Vought. - RG12 Piece 1516 Folio 23 Page 13 - Booton Norfolk.

William Watts Vought  45
Frances Elizabeth Vought  50
Osmond Thomas Lawes  14
John William Vought  14
Pamela Vought  7

1901 William Vought is widowed and living alone - later census living with his daughter Pamela Vought/Howick who married in 1907 to William Charles Howick.

The sister Emily Jane Lawes married in 1887 - March 1887 - St Faith - 4b 121
Emily is widowed by the 1891 census - has the brothers William James (1864) and Hernert Lawes (1873) living with her - Booton Street Norfolk - RG12 Piece 1516 Folio 23 Page 14

Emily Jane Kesler  25 Head. Widowed. Boarding House Keeper. Lodger.
William James Lawes  26 Brother. Gentleman's Domestic Servant. Single.
Herbert Freeman Lawes  18 Brother. Agricultural Labourer. Single.
William Ramm  29 Boarder.

Herbert was married - Q1 - St Faiths -  4b 133 - 1895 - Annie Marie Bacon.
No sign of Ellen with then in 1901 or 1911.

I've just spoken to my mum. She said she was told by Ellen's nephew Arthur that he was visited by Ellen and her Canadian husband when they came home. She can't remember the husbands name or when he said though.

Hello,
I just spotted this thread today although it is almost 2 years old. I am a great-nephew of William John Howe. He married Ellen Lawer (b. 09 MAR 1897 in St Blazey, Cornwall, England), daughter of William Lawer and Mary Jane Hoskins, on April 15, 1911 in Toronto. His first wife, Amy Lawrence, died in Nov 1910 leaving him with five children. The Ellen you are searching for must be a different person.
Regards, David
