Mills / Jones marriage, Meifod

I am interested in a marriage that took place in Meifod: John Mills married Sarah Jones on 24th February 1821. Would anybody have access to any other information on the marriage such as occupation and witnesses' names? I am trying to confirm if this is the marriage of my 4x great grandparents.

There appears to be a marriage between those people for that date on findmypast...

I am no longer a subscriber to that site so cannot see the details. Unfortunately I did not seem to find any similar records on any of the other sites I do have access to including Ancestry (though I find that search engine is not perfect and randomly produces different sets of results for the same search - or, of course, I might be doing something stupid!!).

Hopefully, someone who does subscribe to FindMyPast may be able to get the details for you

Unfortunately the Marriage is not on FreeREG but these items are;

HARRY Mills Baptised 13 January 1822, Parish Church Meifod, Parents JOHN/SARAH

SARAH Mills Buried same Church, 2 July 1824 age 23

F/S has a more exact date for John + Harrys also;

I just looked at a few Trees.
I dont think the 1832 Liverpool Marriage to Ann WAREING is correct, John is a Bachelor and Wheelwright, wrong Occp.

It is more likely he married a ANN in Wales after Sarah died.

In 1841 in Liverpool we have;
John Mills    40, Joiner J
Ann Mills    40
Henry Mills    15
John Mills    15
Ann Mills    10
Sarah Mills    1
Only Sarah is born in Lancs

Most church marriages I have seen for the period 1813-1837  only give the basic information of names of bride and groom name of clergy and witnesses.

Thank you, Trish, I have that information and that is my family. I agree with you about Ann Wareing and have never added that information to my tree.

My reason for trying to confirm this marriage is because Henry Mills (b. 1822) is listed as the nephew on the administration of a Margaret Lloyd when she died. I have managed to trace Margaret Lloyd - maiden name Jones so am assuming that this is Sarah's sister. Margaret's parents were Humphrey & Sarah Jones (her maiden names was also Jones!) and I have found her baptism in Meifod in 1805. No sign of a Sarah Jones yet though!

Edit - Just found the baptism of a Sarah Jones in Meifod, born 1801 (which tallies with the burial of Sarah Mills) - parents Humphrey & Sarah Jones

Re the marriage of John Mills and Sarah Jones. Both were of Meifod parish, both single.No occupation recorded. They married by banns. Present were Ricard Griffiths and Frances Humphreys.

I dont understand the Welsh Patronymic naming system but FreeREG has Children to Humphrey Jones and Sarah
