Looks like he wed before 1901.

3269/ 106/ 9

Wed to Mary E with 6-month old Elizabeth.
Look like a marriage 4th  Mar 1900 Mary's surname was Glossop

If you have Ancestry access, I think he's listed as Emert Bland in 1911.

Have you got his birth year from the census, as this looks like his birth:

Births June quarter 1879  Ernest Bland        Ashborne   7b     613

Added:
And this could be his death, so could get more information from death certificate:
Deaths December quarter  1941   Ernest Bland  age 62    Derby  7b  784

Ernest Bland does not appear to have been baptised at Hartington.......but there is a Baptism at Biggin 01.06.1879 son of John and Hannah..and his entry on the 1891 Census confirms the parents....birth given as Hartington North Quarter......which is give a mile or so..the same as Biggin.....John Bland married Hannah Brindley ..Ashbourne District JFM 1874...from here i can trace them both back very easily if you need to know.............

I have a feeling that the Bland family are relatives by marriage to me.   My aunt married an Edmund Bland from Darley Dale.   His family were builders.   Ernest Bland's daughter  Elizabeth is probably the one who became a school principal (she did not marry).

Edmund Bland was born 2 December 1911 in Darley Dale and died 24 September 1991 at Lea Bridge, Matlock.  His father was Ernest Bland.

Edmund attended Lady Manners Grammar School in Bakewell  was apprenticed as a marine engineer and later joined his father Ernest's business.  He later bought a business in Ripley from his father-in-law Joseph Cresswell.

I recall going to Hartington a few years ago with my aunt, Edmund's widow and she was looking for Bland graves in the churchyard as she said the family came from there.

It is nice to come across something quite unexpectedly.

cheers, marp
