Howell- Halifax

Hi, I am still searching the Howell Family. Walter  Thomas Howell 1869-1947 had Norman b 1893,not sure if Norman married or had children. In 1905 Thomas had a daughter Ethel,she married Charles W Johnson in 1927, they may have had children.
                                                   Any help would be welcome.

if you check the FreeBMD site - www.freebmd.org.uk there are births for Johnson with mother's maiden name Howell in Halifax in 1928 & 1930. I have not posted the details here in case any of them are still living.

The only birth I can see in Halifax c 1893 is this one
Norman Wilbert Howell in June qtr 1892  - Halifax    9a   436

His death
March qtr 1905 
Norman Wilbert Howell age 12   
Halifax reg district  9a   329

I don't know whether you are still searching, but I have the following information compiled from
The 1891, 1901 and 1911 Census records which shows Sarah Jane (née Coppick) & Walter Thomas Howell living in Halifax, Yorkshire.  Their children are: 

 

  - Harold (circa 1892),
  - Norman (c. 1893)
  - Clara (c. 1895)
  - Percy (c. 1900)
  - Reginald (c. 1903)
  - Ethel (c. 1905)
  - Robert (c. 1908)
  - Florence (c. 1909).   

Without a 1921 census, I don't know whether any more children were born after 1909.  Sarah Howell, née Coppick is my first cousin 3x removed, her father being my 3rd great uncle.  I haven't yet researched beyond this level for this branch of my family tree.

Oh, now this is interesting.  Although listed as Harold Howell on the census records, his birth and baptism record lists his name as Thomas Harold Howell, father Walter Thomas Howell, mother Sarah Jane.

As this thread is quite old now, you may already have resolved your questions, so I won't bother to go any further at this point.  If you do need more information I would be willing to see what I can find.
