Ann Frost married to George Hague 1855
« on: Friday 10 July 15 15:09 BST (UK) »
My great-greatgrandmother, Ann Frost, was born c. 1823-4 in Stoney Middleton, married George Hague, and she died (I think) in West Riding in 1906, as far as I can discover.  In the 1901 census, she is listed as residing in Ecclesall, Bierlow.  Are these two places even close?  How can I find a correct death record for her?

Would there be any record of where she is buried?  Any help will be greatly appreciated.   Robyn

Hi,

Burial record -

HAGUE, Ann (Widow, age 80).
Died at 28 Sydney Road; Buried on March 2, 1906 in Consecrated ground;
Grave Number 24, Section KA of Norton Cemetery, Sheffield.

Ann was living at Sydney Road on the 1901 so the above looks to be correct  :)

Thanks so much for such a quick response.  When it says, 'Consecrated Ground', does that mean in a specific plot in the cemetery, but there is no headstone to denote the name?  If there is a headstone, do you know how I could get a photo?  Thanks for your help.  Robyn

Consecrated ground -

Ground that has been made or declared sacred or holy, and is therefore suitable for Christian burial.

There are other 'Hagues' in the plot.

I wouldn't know if there is a headstone. You could try posting a request on http://www.sheffieldindexers.com/ForumIndex.html who have previously helped me with details of a grave in Ecclesall Bierlow.

The link below is a map of the cemetery.
