Catherine Maher born where?
« on: Saturday 18 July 15 12:05 BST (UK) »
All I know about my great grandmother is that she was born in Ireland in 1841 and was brought to England at six weeks old. I have her father's name from her marriage certificate but no idea of her mother's name.

On the census she is listed as born Ireland or Kingsland, but not Kingsland, Ireland. She lived in London and there is a Kingsland district.

Does anyone know if there is a Kingsland in Ireland and if so possible parishes?

Alternatively am I wasting my time as I have virtually nothing to go on?

Many thanks.

Pretty much wasting you time with nothing to go on!
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

Many thanks for the replies.

The only other info I have is that according to her marriage certificate her father's name was John and that he was a labourer. Not much help is it?

I am afraid I agree with Hallmark that I haven't got a hope!

Regards and thanks again.

1881 census seems to specify a Kingsland in Herefordshire.
