I am sure this request has been asked for previously, but where is the best place/website  to access information relating to service records or medals issued.  Looking for a Charles Bartlett from County Durham.

Appreciate any suggestions or guidance.

What information do you know already?

Do you know his service number?    Or do you already have the names of any ships he served on?

I am trying to assist a friend trace her grandfathers naval record I am informed he served on the chrysanthemum, Gloucester and courageous which I believe torpedoed, appreciate any suggestions or places to research.

Chrysanthemum  would have been a Flower Class Corvette  ( I think that's what they were called anyway)              Try searching on roots chat for Canadian  Navy during WW2.    I remember several years ago, one of the Canadian members on roots chat  posted photos  of a flowers class ship.  Try google for HMS  chrysanthemum.  A524

I think Courageous was an Aircraft carrier, from memory?

Do a search on roots chat for  "thaw out this north atlantic corvette"    for some photos of a corvette
