AH - so - if the fistborn son of Richard and Ellin is THOMAS - that may point towards the Richard born Newton Heath 1725 /26 - father Thomas ...it was fairly common for a firstborn son to be named after dad or grandad ...

There's a North Meols (a.k.a. Southport area) family history site which is wonderful at finding all sorts of information. I think if you just type in "Southport Family History" you'll be directed to the site, and their forum is really good - what they state is accurate, and if they don't know, very like here, they'll jolly well either find out, or know someone who can. Try it. You may find a whole new mob - most Southport families seem to be interrelated.
Threlfall (Southport), Isherwood (lancs & Canada), Newbould + Topliss(Derby), Keating & Cummins (Ireland + lancs), Fisher, Strong& Casson (all Cumberland) & Downie & Bowie, Linlithgow area Scotland . Also interested in Leigh& Burrows,(Lancashire) Griffiths (Shropshire & lancs), Leaver (Lancs/Yorks) & Anderson(Cumberland and very elusive)

The first born son was Richard in 1742. Thomas was born in 1747.

I did a check to see if Richard left ba will but couldn't see one. Lancaster is not a surname local  to Ormskirk so it is possibly the family have links elsewhere. Ulnes Walton is Leyland/Chorley way.

There is an Ormskirk Family History Society and the Lancashire & SW Lancashire Cove the Omskirk/Slelmersdale area
