Help finding death date - Mary STEEL

Hello

I am currently looking for a death date for Mary Steel, daughter of Thomas and Eleanor Steel at Stapleton, Cumberland.

Looking at the records, I found a entry from the 1851 Scottish census, a Mary Steel aged 73, wife of Thomas Thomson, living in Newcastleton, Roxburghshire.

Her home county is given as Stableton, Cumberland, which I assume is Stapleton, Cumberland

This could be her, though I cannot access the image on Scotlandspeople to see if its a transcription error

Any help proving or denying if this Mary in the census entry is the same Mary born in 1778 Stapleton would be greatly appreciated

Cannot access it due to a ActiveX filtering issue, some people have had it before.

It looks like Mary married Thomson, so her death would come under that name

There is a death record here that could be her, since the age is quite accurate and the name Turnbull is mentioned, which was the name of her mother.

No indication of a Thomson though and I am not sure how far Renfrew is from Castleton

I would think that is not the record you are after. Turnbull , I think , would be the married or maiden name on that record.

There is a Mary Thomson death 1855 Castleton Roxburgh , born c1774 , however the Steel surname is not showing 

It may be that Mary Steel on the 1851 Census died before 1855 , the start of the statutory records ?

Thomas died in 1862 in Roxburgh by the looks of it

Checked if there was a Mary Steele a Mary Steel, a Mary Thomson and a Mary Thompson whom died between 1851 and 1861, looks like she may have died between 1851 and 1854.

Just ran out of credits too 

There are five possibilities between 1851 and 1854 for Mary Steel, but none for Castleton.

They are living with a granddaughter in 1851, a Mary Elliot, means they had children
