Where does it show Lauchlain moved to Nova Scotia in 1841?  I show him still in the Scotland census then.  The next record I found was his marriage to Mary Ann MacDonald in 1874.

The 1841 Scotland census was taken on 6 June, he must have left Scotland soon after.

After reviewing my facts, I'm not 100% sure I'm looking at the correct Lachlan.  I'll start a new thread now to try and confirm that first.
