I think a few certificate purchases are required, roll on payday.

How dreadful though, assuming it is them (although of course one should not assume before knowing the facts.)
Mullingar, Westmeath Ireland: Gilligan/Wall/Meagher/Maher/Gray/O'Hara/Corroon (various spellings)
Bristol: Woodman/James/Derrick
Bristol/Somerset: Saunders/Wilmot

Wiltshire: Mathews
Carmarthen: Thomas, Lewis
Australia: Mary Lewis, transportee, married Henry Brown - what happened to her?

Hope it is the right family although if it was it must have been dreadful for the children

I can't see James at all post 1851 or a death - If both parents died I wonder whether he was adopted??

The Clutton RD is covered by BathBMD. It has the names as Cole. (Nempnett is presumably in the Harptree subdistrict.)

Bath Death indexes for the years: 1854
Surname   Forename(s)   Age   Sub-District   Registers At   Reference
COLE    Mary          45   Harptree   Bath   HPT/3/193

Bath Death indexes for the years: 1855
Surname   Forename(s)   Age   Sub-District   Registers At   Reference
COLE    Charlotte   12   Harptree   Bath   HPT/3/204
COLE            Isaac   49   Harptree   Bath   HPT/3/205

The births registrations of Harriett, James and Mary Ann - but not Charlotte - are also there, showing that their mother's maiden name was Dyer.

There was a Mary Ann DYER baptized at Winford in 1811, see FreeREG.
It looks like she married John Cole at West Bagborough in 1828, although that's rather far from home for both of them, and she would be only 17.

I found a record for an Isaac Cole marrying a Mary Ann Dyer in Winford in 1829, I think it was, although my phone does not like FindMyPast and won't let me bring the record up to view!

I shall take a look when I get home and report back

Silly me! The West Bagborough groom was John not Isaac and I missed the one in 1829 at Winford, although it is on FreeREG.

Thank you to everyone for your input and help.

In the 1841 census, there was a daughter, Ann, born 1833 or thereabouts. She doesn't appear with them in the 1851 census, at least no one is jumping out and looking a likely candidate. I wonder if Ann was the first child they'd lost  >:( ???
