Thank you for the information on the marriage.

Although, it asks another question.

The John Shurmer that I am researching was born and baptised in 1766
That would make him either 34 or 35 in 1800.
The marriage record  shows 25.
I appreciate that ages were a bit of guess work in those times, but it would be nice to confirm that this is the correct John Shurmer.
The dob for Elizabeth and age in 1800 would appear to be correct for the Elizabeth I am researching.

Any further help would  be greatly appreciated.

There is a baptism of John Shurmer s/o Richard and Sarah  on 18 January 1778 at Meysey Hampton. Two other children (Francis and Edith) of this couple were baptised the same day, so unless they were triplets (there are no burials following soon after), at least one of them was born earlier than 1778. John is the first listed, so likely to be the eldest.

I can't see any other John Shurmer baptisms in Gloucestershire between this one and the 1766 one at Withington.

The marriage allegation posted by Capetown is online as a transcription only, so it is possible that there is an error with John's age.  Gloucestershire Archives can supply a copy of the original for a fee.
