Well, a bit of a lass that Diana Rae...from the OPR St Cyrus 1832 "24th June John Hood and Diana Rae at Milton had a son in fornication born 3rd 'Ins' baptised named John".

The 1841 has him as John Hood aged 9 living with William 60, Margaret 60 and William 6 Rae in St Cyrus.

Sorry my fault for going off piste! I should have stuck to finding Robert Rae but was a bit gobsmacked when I found out who the mother of John Hood was. I've now got him joining the navy in 1846 then nothing...will try and keep on track.  ::)
