Information on Catholic burials around 1875 Glasgow
« on: Wednesday 05 August 15 12:10 BST (UK) »
I hoping to get some information on burials in Glasgow around 1875 in Glasgow. In particular for anyone who was a Catholic. It would also have to take into effect that the people were very poor, and it would have involved children. The areas involved would be near the King Street and Centre Street of Glasgow.

Therefore would it have been in a poor ground? And what cemetery would have been used? I would be grateful for any help afforded. Regards.

Mackers.

The nearest Catholic Cemetery to that area would have been St Peters (Dalbeth) in London Road which was opened in 1863.

The Archdiocese of Glasgow holds a lair owners register for Dalbeth Cemetery. I obtained a record covering a burial there in 1855 ( Dalbeth 235 West) and a record of the reopening in 1861 for the burial of the spouse.
