NZ Government Gazette Archive
« on: Thursday 06 August 15 02:36 BST (UK) »
Can anyone assist please with information please?

How do we find out what libraries might have a searchable electronic version of the NZ Government Gazette?

This is produced by a company called LexisNexis who tell me the data base is searchable from 1904 - 2009 all you need to do is enter a name.

The trick now is to find where I can access the resource.  I am endeavoring to track Post and Telegraph staff .. 18 in total from around 1904 to 1991.

Any assistance or information would be much appreciated.

The website link only offers online data from 1993 to 2015.

Lucy

Thank you for your interest.  No that isn't the one I am looking for.

Have a look at another completed post of mine :-  NZ Government Gazette 1922

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=727248.0

Here you will see a reply from Beg Clonrode and a page of data he supplied for me.

The NZSG in Auckland .. a very nice lady ...  said yes they have access to the data base there in Auckland if you are a member of the NZSG .. unfortunately I am not so now trying to find libraries who do have it,  as per Begs reply to my previous post.

Hi Alex

Try looking at the Christchurch City Libraries website.

Reference to LexisNexis NZ Government Gazette Archive is coming up in a search for "NZ Gov. gazette archive + Libraries".

Hi Alex

... I didn't actually add the NZ Gazette website link ... I was just making mention that it only covered years other than those you are trying to access.   ;)

Yes, I understand what it is you're looking for.   ;D

Thanks do appreciate your time.

Think I was probably getting a little frustrated after I phoned LexisNexis and got someone 1000's of miles away who couldn't speak or answer English very well  .. she asked me if Invercargill was part of Auckland or Wellington !!!!!

Will have a look at the Ch Ch Library site and see what I can do there.

The information that I am looking for is commonly known as "The Stud Book" that was published each year in the Gazette detailing the staff employed and their location.

Trouble is the large number of names I have .. 18 of them .. who were all Managers with the P & T. for a history of ZLB Awarua Radio Station.    Want to trace their service and just a little unfair to ask some one to do it for me when I have those big numbers.

The Turnbull Library in Wellington has a facility for asking a librarian a question, top RH of page. They may know which libraries have copies
