Thanks for all your help, Diddy. We've been in North Wales for a few days and so, on the way back, we are diverting to Lockington, Diseworth and Loughborough to have a look at churchyards (my wife's great interest - headstones).

I do have one more immediate question - when did John and Dorothy depart this life in Shepshed?

I thought you had Dorothy as death 9 /1/1835 Loughborough? (  no stone found in All Saints')

not easy to find in PRs if date not known as no index for shepshed.... will check Loughborough indexes.

Hi team

I've.... along with many great people on rootschat have just broken down 20 years of brickwalls and I've come to who I hope is my Rebecca Adkin.  After doing a search I found this thread of course which is magic to my eyes! Especially the removal order which names Rebecca.  Because I couldn't find her baptism I didn't know quite where she fitted it..... I'm shaking!

Congrats and all on the Wedding.  I hope all went well.

I'm very excited about this thread... Just one small thing.  I've got to prove something else I'm working on first.

Can you tell what exactly is being referred to in regard to 'the removal order from Shepshed to Thorpe Acre'?

Removal order was made by the Parish when a family could not support itself.. in this case they were living Shepshed but instead of Shepshed supporting them they were removed back to their original parish Thorpe Acre, which is where I go to church !
