Millbank Prison 1841
« on: Saturday 15 August 15 09:13 BST (UK) »
Hello, I have subscriptions to 2 well know genealogy sites and I cannot find Millbank Prison in either one of them.  I just want to browse the 1841 census.  Is that possible?

The subs I have are with Find My Past and The Genealogist.  Not sure if I'm allowed to mention them by name with all this copyright business, mods please delete this paragraph if necessary.

I *think* I may have found it listed as the General Penitentiary (London) in TG can anybody please confirm I have the correct prison?

I am Zoe Northeast, granddaughter of Maximilian Double.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,

I have found my ancestor in Millbank Prison in 1841, is there a way of finding out what he had done?

There are newspaper reports and criminal registers on the subscriptions sites if you have access.  If you need more eyes to help, post his name and likely place of trial(s).
