Margaret Mellon b1847
« on: Monday 17 August 15 23:18 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to locate a baptism in Ireland for Margaret Mellon daughter of Michael Mellon, occupation: Draper. She is believed to have been born on 25 Aug 1847. The surname appears to be most common in the north of Ireland. She married in Liverpool in 1865, the father was deceased by then and it's not known if the parents ever moved to Liverpool. Margaret had an aunt on the 1871 Liverpool Census called Catherine Mellon likely a sister of Michael Mellon. Margaret's married name was initially Morrison in Liverpool but after she moved to Denmark (where we think her husband was from) in the 1870s the name was Mogensen. More information about this research here:-
